Campus Visits and Virtual Tours
Visiting colleges and career technology centers helps students learn details about the institution and envision themselves on campus. Ideally, students should visit their chosen campus in person before making a final decision about attending. Sometimes those visits, while exciting, can be a little overwhelming. Making the Most of Campus Visits guides students in their exploration with places to visit while on campus, a checklist of what to do and questions to ask students and staff
Planning for College Costs
Cost plays a key role in where students choose to attend college. Starting early and taking steps to save, applying for scholarships and understanding financial aid options can reduce stress and expand students’ choices.
Our Financial Aid Planning Timeline offers practical checklists for students from seventh grade through their freshman year of college. Each stage highlights key actions and helpful information to guide students and families in preparing for college with confidence.
We recommend students use the Financial Aid Worksheet to estimate out-of-pocket costs for the schools they’re most interested in attending. After receiving admission and financial aid offers, the sample Financial Aid Offer can help them better understand and compare their options.
As you prepare next year’s juniors and seniors for their postsecondary plans, consider referring them to Your Plan for College, Oklahoma’s official guide to preparing for college. This compact, easy-to-use resource gives students a strong foundation for making informed decisions about their future. It outlines the value of earning a college degree, breaks down costs and financial aid options, and explains the different types of colleges and universities available. In addition, the guide provides practical college planning tools, timelines, and tips to help students stay on track throughout the application and enrollment process.
